Eat, Pray, Love

Just the name of this book I love, even though I don't pray. This book would have to be one of my all time favourites. I was totally hooked. I've always said that when I need a book, it calls me, and this one did. And I'm so happy it did! I have an added strength because of it.

I love the way Elizabeth Gilbert writes, she draws you into the story and you just can't wait to see what is going to happen. I would LOVE to do what she has done, a year long trip to find herself, to mediate, do yoga and meet wonderful people. To have the courage even do it alone would be my first step, actually doing it my second.

I wasn't sure how I would go with the way she referred to God alot, but she has an explanation in the front of the book, which put my mind at ease before I even started reading it, so that part really did not bother me too much. The rest of the book, fantastic, and I now have the sequel to it Committed next to my bed to start this week. I can't wait to find out how her story ends.

Its coming out in the cinemas in October with Julia Roberts playing Elizabeth. Which I am busting to see, however as usual, I hope the movie does not ruin the book. I do however love Julia Roberts as an actress and if its anything like Erin Brockovich then I'm sure I'm going to love it....

I would thouroughly recommend this book!!

Wish List - minus ONE

I've been wanting one of these for a long time. Nothing beats reading in bed, but when its uncomfortable to try and get the night light where you want it, reading does not become a pleasure. So I invested in a book light! For $20 I can now read in bed, in comfort. Its flexible and the light is just right. I love it :)

The book I'm reading is a good one too. Review to come when its finished.

Bookshop Bargains...

GOING all things handmade and small business where I can this year, I popped into the local book exchange today. Didn't realise, but was thrilled that it was there half yearly sale. Extra bargain!! I picked up Jody Picoult's My Sisters Keeper for $6, which is far better than the movie. I have read it, but lent it out, and sadly never had it returned.

A couple of other books at a few bucks each, and a Better Homes & Gardens - just because I thought I might knit that throw rug on the front oneday! Probably won't, but for $1.....

30 Something and Over It.....

I love books, and sometimes, as corny as it may sound, one 'calls' me. I don't buy brand new books very often but when I'm in the mood for a good read I will find one. I was surfing the book section a big dub early last year looking for a good crime novel or true story, when I came across 30 Something and Over it. My god, what a great read and exactly what I needed at the time. If you're a reader, and if you're 30 Something and Over it too, then I would thoroughly recommend Kasey Edwards book. I was that thrilled I ended up emailing her personally when I finish, and became her friend on Facebook.

The book is well written, is funny and defo a 'can't put down' read. She was working on book 2 when I last spoke to her, I'll be keeping my eye out for it, thats for sure!

I remembered this book when I came across a blog today that reminded me of myself and something that I would really love to do, like Miss Dish.
